Dick Shapiro and Ira Heilicher formed Path Musical Productions Company while still in college. "The Chancellors" were the first new band they approached and by January of 1965 they were booking 36 bands.
When Path Musical Productions dissolved, Dick Shapiro went in partnership with Bill Diehl of WDGY as The Central Booking Alliance Agency.
